It was early april in 1999. My friend Witek Gizler who was to be a captain told me about possibility of race from Canary Islands. We were to take polish boat Sagitarius to Germany. I agreed immediatly because the route was very interesting. I was courious to see Atlantic Ocean for the first time! We were sailing about 3 weeks. We had autopilot, radar, INMARSTAT. It was not usual on polish boats at this time. I had a great fan doing this because it was new experience to steer with a joystick. Long watches on Atlantic Ocean. Great pleasure as always under sails.
